Lumenway and the Trick of Hiding Bigfoot

They say the dragon Lumenway lives in the thin places between worlds, where the air shimmers like heat‑haze and the trees lean in as if listening. Lumenway is a Realm‑Shifter, a dragon whose wings can fold the edges of reality like the corner of a page. Most days, she drifts quietly between realms, keeping watch over travelers who don’t quite belong to any single world.

Her favorite wanderer is Bigfoot.

Contrary to human rumor, Bigfoot is not shy, hunted, or hiding. He is simply a culinary pilgrim, slipping between realms in search of rare delicacies. And Earth — for reasons no scholar has ever agreed upon — grows mushrooms found nowhere else in the multiverse. Some glow faintly. Some hum. Some taste like rain on a warm stone. Bigfoot adores them all.

But he is easily distracted, and humans are terribly noisy.

So whenever Bigfoot crosses into Earth to forage, Lumenway glides behind him, folding the air just enough to blur the edges of the moment. A hiker’s camera glitches. A footprint fades. A shadow stretches the wrong way. Not to hide Bigfoot out of fear, but out of courtesy, the way one shields a friend who wants to enjoy his meal in peace.

Every blurry photograph is simply Lumenway arriving a heartbeat late.

And every mushroom ring found in the deep woods is Bigfoot’s quiet thank‑you.
