In the volcanic reaches of the Emberfang Range, fire dragons celebrate a sizzling tradition: the Trial of the Fire Nacho.

This isn’t your average snack. These nachos are forged in flame—obsidian chips layered with molten cheese, magma peppers, and a drizzle of lava oil. The dish is served directly from a lava pit, still bubbling, still smoking.
But the Trial is more than a meal. It’s a rite of passage.
Young firelings must face the Trial to earn their first flame. One chip. One bite. No water. No extinguishing. If they survive the heat without sputtering smoke or dousing their inner fire, they are declared Flameborn.
Those who fail? They return to the hatchery for another moon of training—and a scorched tongue.
Legends tell of a fireling who bit into the spiciest chip and belched a flame so hot it carved a new canyon. That canyon is now called Nacho’s Maw.
So today, as you crunch your way through a mortal nacho platter, remember: somewhere in the Emberfang Range, a dragon is earning their flame.
